Ingredients

Salmon fillets
  • 4 salmon fillets 6 oz each, skin-on or skinless
Ranch butter
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • 1 oz dry ranch seasoning mix 1 packet
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice fresh
  • 1 tsp lemon zest fresh
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
Garnish and serving
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped, for garnish
  • 1 lemon sliced into thin rounds, for serving

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan

Method

Preheat and prep
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment and pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel.
Make the ranch butter
  1. In a small bowl, mash together the softened unsalted butter, dry ranch seasoning mix, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, and black pepper until fully combined into a smooth paste.
Coat the salmon
  1. Arrange the salmon fillets on the baking sheet and spread the ranch butter generously over the top of each piece, pressing gently so it clings.
Bake
  1. Bake at 400°F for 10-12 minutes, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 130°F.
Broil for color
  1. Switch the oven to broil and cook for 1-2 minutes more, watching closely, until the top is golden and slightly bubbling.
Rest and garnish
  1. Let the salmon rest for 2 minutes, then top with fresh parsley and serve with lemon slices.

Notes

Pro tip: press the ranch butter onto the salmon so it adheres before baking—this helps form a tangy crust. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge up to 3 days; reheat gently so it doesn’t dry out. Freezing isn’t recommended for best texture. For a lower-sodium option, use a reduced-sodium ranch seasoning packet.
