Ingredients

Chicken breast
  • 1.5 lb boneless skinless chicken breast
Broccoli
  • 4 cup broccoli florets
Oil and seasonings
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
Finishers
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley

Equipment

  • 1 air fryer

Method

Preheat and season
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) and let it come up to temperature for even cooking.
  2. In a large bowl, combine chicken, broccoli, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Toss until everything is evenly coated so the seasoning clings to the chicken and florets.
Air fry
  1. Place the chicken in the air fryer basket in a single layer for fast, consistent browning.
  2. Cook for 8 minutes at 390°F (200°C) with the chicken undisturbed.
  3. Add the broccoli and shake the basket so the florets cook without steaming.
  4. Continue cooking for 6–8 minutes at 390°F (200°C) until the chicken reaches 165°F and the broccoli is tender.
Serve
  1. Transfer to a serving bowl to keep the chicken and broccoli from overcooking in the air fryer.
  2. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese so it melts slightly from the heat.
  3. Drizzle with lemon juice and garnish with chopped parsley for bright, fresh flavor.
  4. Serve immediately while the broccoli is tender-crisp.

Notes

For the best texture, don’t overcrowd the basket—cook in a single layer and shake only once after adding broccoli. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days; reheat in the air fryer or oven until warmed through (no freezer). If you want a lighter option, replace Parmesan with reduced-fat cheese while keeping the seasoning blend the same.
