Ingredients

  • 1 package (8 oz) crescent roll dough refrigerated
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard

Equipment

  • 1 large baking sheet

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles.
  4. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 4 strips.
  5. Wrap 4 dough strips around each hot dog, leaving a small gap near one end for the mummy’s face.
  6. Tuck the strip ends underneath and arrange the hot dogs on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 13 to 17 minutes, until the dough is puffed and golden brown and the hot dogs are heated through.
  8. Let the mummy dogs rest for 2 minutes.
  9. Use small dots of mustard to make eyes in each face gap.

Notes

For neat wraps, keep the face gap uncovered and tuck the dough ends underneath each hot dog. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days; freezing is not recommended. For a vegetarian option, use plant-based hot dogs.
